Similac Formula Recall: Enfamil Lipil Baby Formula

Enfamil

Since the Similac branded formula has come under fire due to this episode of contamination I thought it would be good to recommend some of the alternatives to the Similac formula. One such alternative is Enfamil Lipil Baby Formula which contains various things but as far as anyone knows it doesn't contain the crunchy beetle parts as featured in some Similac products.

The Enfamil Lipil Baby Formula  can be bought online, even though it is a little bit more expensive than the Similac powder I personally do not mind paying that little bit more to ensure my child is getting the best  available. The Enfamil Lipil Baby Formula  is recommended by paediatricians making it an even better choice.

Similac recall 2010: Similac Recall

Similac Recall 2010

The company behind Similac branded baby formulas has begun a voluntary recall of some of its products. After a review of its products it found that in one of their production areas species of common beetle. Although the FDA said that the beetles don't pose any threat there is a possibility that infants may experience gastrointestinal discomfort due to the small insect parts irritating the GI tract.

The following Similac powder infant formula is being recalled:

Similac powder product lines offered in plastic containers
Similac powder product lines and sizes 8oz, 12.4oz and 12.9oz cans

The executive vice president of Abbott, Holger Liepmann said:
"Abbott understands that parents expect to feed their children only the highest quality product. We are taking this action so that parents know that the infant formula products they provide unquestionably meet the highest quality standards for which they are known. We regret any inconvenience this situation poses to parents and consumers."
